Yoli Korean

Yoli is one of the most exciting restaurants in Bend, period. Located at 1133 NW Wall Street, Yoli serves elevated Korean cuisine with the flavors of Korea intertwined with Chef Joe Kim’s modern, unique style. Joe and Laura Kim, former manager and chef at 5 Fusion with three James Beard nominations, left to form their own concept restaurant. The corn cheese is a standout dish, while the Kalbi SSAM with banchan and the bibimbap have been called spectacular. The Wagyu Steak and Dubu Twigim are also highly recommended, along with the Dolsot Bibimbap, ramen, and crispy octopus. For a special occasion, the Chef’s Tasting Menu is described as the best expression of creativity, flavor, and variety. On the cocktail side, the Ulsan Sour—a twist on a whiskey sour paying homage to Chef Kim’s family kiwi farm in Ulsan—is considered the most craveable drink on the menu.

Deschutes Brewery Public House

13-minute walk from Pioneer Park Rentals (0.6 miles)

Bend’s original brewpub has been a vibrant fixture of the downtown scene since 1988, where their very first beers, including Black Butte Porter and Jubelale, were brewed. It’s the kind of place that earns its reputation not just through history but through consistent quality, with 19 taps and a farm-to-table kitchen to match.

The Korean gochujang spicy chicken wings topped with crunchy peanuts and the artichoke-jalapeño cheese dip made with chilies, artichokes, caramelized fennel, and spinach make superb starters. For mains, the Mirror Pond Pale Ale-battered fish and chips—fresh Pacific coast cod rolled in Japanese bread crumbs and served with house-cut pub fries and caper tartar sauce—is a crowd-pleaser, as is the dry-aged ribeye grilled to order with locally grown roasted garlic mashed potatoes and an Obsidian Stout–shallot steak sauce. The juniper elk burger with herbed goat cheese spread is also worth a look if you want something more adventurous. For dessert, the Oregon berry cobbler served warm with vanilla bean ice cream is hard to pass up.

Order: Gochujang wings, Mirror Pond fish and chips, and the Black Butte Porter or a flight to sample the taps.

Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats

13-minute walk from Pioneer Park Rentals (0.6 miles)

Wild Rose is a Bend institution. It’s one of the most talked-about restaurants in Central Oregon and a genuine destination for people who know their Thai food. Father-daughter owners Paul and Rosie Itti serve cuisine rooted in their hometown of Chiang Mai, marked by a greater use of dried spices, turmeric, and tamarind than southern Thai cooking. Don’t come looking for pad thai; it’s not on the menu, and that’s entirely the point.

The Khao Soi Curry stands out with its creamy broth and tender beef brisket. The turmeric clams—Manila clams stir-fried in a curry sauce with egg, basil, green onion, and turmeric—are beloved, and regulars recommend ordering extra rice to soak up the sauce left on the plate. Crowd-pleasers also include the Curry Basil Noodles and Tom Kha. For a sampler intro to the menu, the Northern Thai Trio gives you sticky jasmine rice, green papaya salad, and a ground pork curry—a perfect way to get your bearings.

Order: Khao Soi Curry, turmeric clams (with extra rice), and the som tum papaya salad.

Blissful Spoon

13-minute walk from Pioneer Park Rentals (0.6 miles)

Blissful Spoon is one of Bend’s most charming and distinctive spots. It’s a European-style bistro and bakery by day, and on Thursday through Saturday evenings, it transforms into Papillon, an intimate Moroccan-inspired dining experience. The kitchen is open from 9am to 2pm for breakfast and lunch, and the speakeasy bar Cellar 65 serves tapas and crafted cocktails during evening hours. Everything on the menu is made in-house from scratch and can be prepared gluten-free.

For brunch, the Cinnamon French Toast and the Smoked Salmon Benedict are recurring favorites. The smoked salmon brioche toast—house-made bread topped with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and a remoulade of capers and pickled onions—is a lovely savory option, and for lunch the jambon au beurre, a classic French ham sandwich with cornichon pickles, is a satisfying choice. If you visit on a Thursday through Saturday evening for Papillon, the roasted eggplant mezze, chicken and duck bastillas, and lemon chicken tagine have drawn rave reviews.

Order (brunch): Cinnamon French Toast or Smoked Salmon Benedict. (Evening/Papillon): Lemon chicken tagine and the duck bastilla.

Ken’s Artisan Pizza

13-minute walk from Pioneer Park Rentals (0.6 miles)

Ken’s Artisan Pizza needs little introduction to anyone who follows the pizza world seriously. Since opening in Portland in 2006, Ken’s has received local and national acclaim from Food & Wine, Sunset Magazine, Bloomberg, and Thrillist, and has consistently ranked among the top pizzerias in both the country and the world by the prestigious Naples-based 50 Top Pizza — most recently named the 8th best pizzeria in the country in 2025. The Bend location opened in February 2025 in the historic Downing Building, serving the same wood-fired pizzas made with house-made mozzarella, slow-fermented dough, and locally sourced ingredients.

The menu is focused and deliberate — a handful of pies done exceptionally well. The Fennel Sausage & Onions pizza is the most-reviewed dish, followed closely by the Margherita and the calamari starter. The Prosciutto Pizza delivers rich flavor in every bite, and the Beet Salad with lemon-whipped ricotta is refreshing and memorable as a starter. Note: Ken’s does not take reservations, so expect a possible wait—though virtually every diner who’s been says it’s worth it.

Order: Fennel Sausage & Onions pizza, the Margherita, and the Beet Salad to start. Come early or be prepared to queue.
